Hi! I’m Janet Tweedy.  I have a long history with Parents as Teachers.  I was in the program with my children and have been a parent educator for the Republic, Mt. Vernon, and Bolivar districts.  I was a classroom teacher for 30 years and ended my career here in Bolivar in 2020.  I love being a parent educator and partnering with families to bring about positive outcomes for the families and children of the Bolivar R-1 district.   I absolutely adore each family that I am privileged to serve.  My own family consists of a supportive husband, Craig, of 42 years, 2 successful adult children along with 4 beautiful grandchildren.  

My name is Karen Stewart. I have had a long journey with Parents As Teachers that started out with my own children 34 years ago. I am so happy to be a part of the Bolivar Parents As Teachers program, doing home visits with families and children in our district. I get to use my Community Recreation and masters in Education degree each day. I have been a Parent Educator for 4 years. Additionally, I have 42 years of experience working with youth in communities. With the support of my husband, I am always on the move to see my next family. Let's learn, grow and have fun together!

Hi! I’m Julia Reed and I am in my second year as a parent educator with the Bolivar R1 School District.  Before I became a parent educator, I was a pre-k teacher with the Bolivar School District.  I retired after 22 years of teaching.  I always wanted to be a teacher and was thrilled when I achieved my dream through the support of my family and the Bolivar school district.  I love to learn and I have learned so much being a parent educator through the trainings and families I serve.  I consider it a privilege and an honor to partner with parents as they navigate parenthood.  I know how valuable the program was to me when my children were small and now 3 of my grandchildren are in the Bolivar Parents as Teachers (PAT) program.  The excitement on the faces of the kids I see on visits and on my grandchildren when our parent educator comes to our home is rewarding.  They love to see what activities we will be doing and what is in our PAT bag.  These past 2 years have been exciting supporting parents and celebrating milestones achieved.  My own family consists of my supportive husband, Randy, 2 flourishing adult children and their spouses and 6 beautiful grandchildren.
